Filling in the Basket

As much as I love the way the shading on the apples looks, I've got to admit that filling in the basket isn't a whole lot of fun.

There are lots of shades of lighter and darker brown and there's not a repetitive pattern to it all. It'll totally be worth it once it's done, but it's so easy to lose track of where I am and what I'm doing. If something unexpected pulls my attention away I have a hard time finding my place again.

The curve of an apple or the edge of a leaf is easy. The weave of the basket isn't.

Confetti stitching like that to fill in that pretty basket is really annoying, but like you said, it will be worth it in the end. That piece is so very pretty.

Oh how beautiful your basket of apples is! I can well imagine all the shading of the basket would create lots of angst but as you say soooo worth it when you have finally finished. Gorgeous stitching!
