My goal of the moment is to finish five scrappy little trip blocks a week. That doesn't sound like much at all, until you consider how many different fabrics it takes to make those blocks.
Twenty-four different fabrics for a 12x12" section of quilt. And somehow I still think this is a good idea....

The blocks sparkle with all that variety!
I know what you mean by "it looks easier" -- not that it's harder, but rather it's more fiddly and time-consuming. Just remember that they sparkle. That's a good think.
Just curious how you use 24 different fabrics in a 12X12" block? I use 6 2 1/2" strips in mine so there are actually only 6 fabrics per block. Whenever I run across 'ugly' fabric or smaller pieces, I generally cut them into strips just for projects like this! :-)
Yea for having a goal! 5 blocks a week is reasonable even though it is ridiculously time consuming to do this block! So far they look great.
YOur scrappy quilt is going to SHINE!
Yes! It IS a good idea. :)
Yes, it's a great idea. A good stash buster for sure! And it's going to be fabulous!
Trip around the world blocks are one of my favorites. I've got one of those started, maybe it will make it to next year's UFO list.
