{Whatcha Reading?} Foreclosed

I bought Foreclosed because I'd read the Amazon listing for one of the author's other books. That one sounded good, but I wasn't sure I wanted to invest $4.99 in it without knowing anything about the author. Foreclosed was only ninety-nine cents and looked just as interesting.  (That logic doesn't make much sense to you? Don't worry -- in hindsight it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, either!)

Realtor Mitzy Neuhaus has plans to save the mansion on Baltimore Street from foreclosure, partially to drum up business for her own office, and partially to help preserve the property value of her rental property next door. There are some stolen quartz counter tops and some stolen jewels, but most of the plot revolves around Mitzy's business dealings and plans for her radio show.

There are some jarring switches in point of view (at one point, Mitzy hands a receptionist a cup of coffe and we're suddenly in the woman's head getting her opinion of Mitzy's manicure.)  The book isn't bad, but I'm in no hurry to read the rest of the series.

Foreclosed is the first in the Mitzy Neuhaus Mystery series, and it's currently available as a free title from Amazon. If you're looking for more book recommendations, check out What Are You Reading? every week at Patchwork Times.

I'm currently reading The Widow of Larkspur Inn about a pampered victorian woman left in debt by her deceased husband. Looses everything except an old lodging house. So far I'm really enjoying it. Oh, I read mostly via Nook but it may be on Kindle too.

Since it was free, I decided to try it. You didn't give it a glowing review, but it can't be as bad as the Dekker book I didn't finish this week!
