I leave off borders whenever possible, but I was told that this quilt needs them....and I agree. Now that they're on, they make things more symmetrical.
Should I not admit that the only reason I did get around to putting them on is because I needed to see how much of the blue fabric I had left to use in another project?

I am a border person...it reminds me of framing a pretty painting. Nicely done.
Whatever convuluted reasoning we may use for doing or not doing a project, I do think it has to do with the other parts of our lives like family demands, work schedules, health, etc.We are people with many needs after all, and we often neglect these and focus on something else. Like borders or not. Thus we avoid the important decisions by putting all our energy into something far less important in the long run. I find myself in that situation with a pile of WIPs, dithering over what color to choose. But Quilting fills any number of needs in our lives and we are lucky to have this community of friends to share with. How did I get off on that tangent when I should be in bed.?
You make me want to go get out all of my little squares and start sewing them together....sigh....if only I didn't already have piles of projects surrounding me.
