gates suited for a haunted house

If I could think of a way to justify it, I'd try to talk hubby into buying me an old wrought iron gate. Aren't they pretty?

Of course, they also cost more than I can justify spending, I don't have the slightest idea where we'd put one, and the kids would probably get tetanus from licking it. But they're fun to look at.

No changes this week, but there's a huge pile of scraps headed my way. I got a peek at it this afternoon and I'm just dying to get my hands on it. I saw lots of pink, just what I've been after to make that quilt from Bonnie's new book.

Maybe you can buy one that isn't so rusty, and give it a faux rusty paint look? If that is truly the look that you are going for. Especially if it has rounded top you can pull it inside during the off season and place it in front of your fireplace and drape a quilt over it. :)

Saw a gate used as a coffee table. glass on the top and big wooden blocks for legs. pretty awesome...and big too. You could hang that on a wall sideways to hang stuff too! Going with the flow here...

Scraps are such fun to work with, especially someone else's scraps. Hope you are able to find a gate, maybe a drive to a rural area and look for gates off their hinges and ask if you can have it, worth a shot.

We used a gate like that as a divider for the patio. Beautifully rustic. Daughter now has it, don't know how that happened........

Oh, the kids just get extra iron when they lick it, I say go for it.

The ornamental iron shop I used to work for had old gates like that. They were really cool ... and really expensive! I saw the numbers for your yarn before I saw it was yarn, not fabric. I nearly had a cow! :)
