It looks intriguing, but I can see this ending in bloodshed, at least at my house. And I can't quite figure out why it would be better to bake a loaf of bread in a glass tube.
I know one of you has to have one -- does it work? Should I have bought it?
I had one in the 1970's. It was a fun gimmick but I never though it worked as well as advertised. It was supposed to make a perfectly round loaf but mine were usual more oval and didn't completely fill the tube. Mine went to the thrift store a long time ago.
ReplyDeleteI have one. It worked great with fresh dough or frozen. I haven't used it in 20 years though. That's the problem with having lots of gadgets.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen one before, but I would have had to bring it home and try it. I love baking bread and have several different type pans to use. My thought was that it probably would't slide out that easily if I were using it. lol
ReplyDeleteI had the round tube and really liked it. I lived in New Orleans and baked French Bread in it, and it worked really well. Lost it in Katrina, and we don't eat bread any more so...
ReplyDeleteI also had the uncandle... LOL! We used to be really big on gimmicks.
