I have been very good this year. My total spending on yarn and fabric so far has been under nine dollars. (Three dollars for a replacement skein of yarn for Teenage Daughter's Weasley sweater, two bucks for seven yards of quilting cotton from the GoodWill bins and four dollars for three solid vintage sheets in good colors, probably for sashings and backgrounds.) And that's not since the first of the year. That's in the three months since December 2nd.
I might not have planned this, or had much of a choice, but I'm sure taking full credit for it. I'm also really appreciating my quilting style and my stash of scraps. When Bonnie posted the new leaders & enders challenge this week, it was like getting goodies for a brand new project. I'll be using fabrics I already had, but I'd never thought of using them for a project like that one. Just as much fun as buying new fabric, right?
That part that confirms I'm being good and not just doing what I was forced kicking and screaming into -- I've still got a Joanns gift card and some Christmas money that I'm saving for when I really do need something to finish a special project.

Lucky you! I can never find fabric at Goodwill.
ReplyDeleteCheering you on! I'm trying to use what I have too. Haven't brought any fabric into this house since September. Love Bonnie's projects too since I don't feel the need to buy for them.
