next year, I'm going to count differently

Grandma met me at lunch with goodies this week. I'm currently fighting Teenage Daughter for the butterflies, which are a complete set with pillowcases. She wants them for her bed....I have the perfect quilt pattern picked out for them....and I'm sure we'll go with our usual compromise, which is for her to keep them on her bed until Grandma shows up with a set she likes better. It works.

Next year, I'm going to track my fabric differently. Instead of converting the sheets into yards and adding them to my weekly stash totals, I think I'm just going to keep track of the number of sheets. I can always convert them to yards at the end of the year.

Fabric Used this Week: 0 yards
Fabric Used year to Date: 42 3/4 yards
Added this Week: 15 yards
Added Year to Date: 163 yards
Net Added for 2012: 120.25 yards

Yarn Used this Week: 100 yards
Yarn Used year to Date: 830 yards
Yarn Added this Week: 0 yards
Yarn Added Year to Date: 3900 yards
Net Added for 2012: 3070 yards

  1. Sheets do not count as yardage until they are no longer a sheet!

  2. I do terribly at that tracking. I don't count anything until it is a completed project. I have never tried tracking yarn. Oh my.....I think I would be overwhelmed.

  3. Hahaha! I totally agree with Rebecca!! I'm just glad I don't feel any inclination to track DMC flosses!!! LOL! Oh -- and I can totally understand the fight over the butterflies!! :)
