Does every sock, no matter the foot size, begin with eight cast on stitches? Just checking before I get started. Thank goodness it has been a rainy blustery day in Ocean Park WA. I finally found a toe I like! That I can do! I made my sample in a larger yarn just to learn the technique. I didn't make the whole sock, just the toe part. Now my next challenge will be to figure out how many stitches to cast on in my size yarn and my size foot. I'm using yarn I had purchased a couple of years ago, it is a bit lighter weight than standard worsted.I will be using size 4 DPN's (I think). The yarn is called Greenland, by Cascade Yarns, it is 100% Merino Superwash. It is a beautiful fuchsia color.
