There might be a few kinds of Kilz, so make sure what you buy is right for covering up stuff. I had some water stains on my kitchen ceiling that I managed to cover up with about a billion coats of Kilz. I still haven't gotten around to doing the regular ceiling paint over that, so the ceiling is a little shiny.

When we were looking at houses (22 years ago now!) there was one with bright red stain on all the cupboards. It put me right off that house. Add to that the fact that there was only one bathroom and it was upstairs...nope. That was not the house we were going to buy!mpv61https://www.blogger.com/profile/03756394634390439326noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6312158.post-55473450569814172152014-01-05T09:13:15.261-08:002014-01-05T09:13:15.261-08:00*speechless* Makes you wonder, doesn't it??*speechless* Makes you wonder, doesn't it??Amy, a redeemed sheephttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12324661637036868565noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6312158.post-54161571822922739212014-01-02T16:24:21.057-08:002014-01-02T16:24:21.057-08:00Ewww. Like others have said, KILZ should take care of the color part of the issue, but you'll need to do some sanding to take care of the texture. Good luck!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12731560114529702235noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6312158.post-54077871064555593942014-01-02T15:04:29.889-08:002014-01-02T15:04:29.889-08:00Ummm....yikes!!Ummm....yikes!!Denise :)https://www.blogger.com/profile/07306906507013593208noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6312158.post-67375853530856176722014-01-02T10:15:20.103-08:002014-01-02T10:15:20.103-08:00KILZ primer will hide the red, but the crinkly eff...KILZ primer will hide the red, but the crinkly effect will still show unless you sand it smooth. Personally, if it is inside the cupboards I would just prime it with KILZ and then paint it and be done with it.Terri in BChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11362926850196381066noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6312158.post-55900438834086218922014-01-02T08:23:18.259-08:002014-01-02T08:23:18.259-08:00Wow Michelle, just wow! As far as I know the only thing you can do to cover it up is either strip the whole thing which will be time consuming and messy or paint it over with several coats.Dogwood Lane Rambleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11325307035803155779noreply@blogger.com
