I'm not buying fabric, but...

I didn't want to go bin diving at the Goodwill Outlet, but it was Teenage Daughter's birthday and she really wanted to go and we were in town already... I wasn't even looking! I was tagging along beside my mom and the boys waiting for my daughter to get it out of her system. And then some little corner of my quilty brain that I didn't even know was engaged recognized folded yardage under the clothes. Seven or so yards of nice cotton for less than two bucks? It came home with me.

We also stopped at St. Vincent's. They're now selling fabric labeled at fat quarters for ninety-nine cents. I'm so confused.... Five dollar a yard clearance fabric isn't hard to come by at the quilt shop. And yes, I realize that there's usually a one yard minimum, but still, I expect my thrift store fabric to be a lot less than four bucks a yard.

$1.39 a pound? That I can handle.

We found some other treasures, but I'm saving those for my vintage post on Thursday.

I've never gotten fabric at a thrift store, but when I buy men's shirts to use, I don't count them in my yards in. I also don't count scraps from friends. By my rules, you haven't added fabric!

Lucky you, only one of our thrift stores sells fabric and you just have to be lucky. I love thrift stores so much fun and you had to go because it was your daughter's birthday. Wish her a HB.

Great find at the thrift shop. The few times I remember to look for fabric I can never find any. Guess I should ask where they put it. Sounds like your daughter had a delightful birthday.

Great finds. I never think to check for fabric when I take stuff TO the Goodwill store. Maybe I should. But, I have pledged not to buy any more fabric unless it is absolutely needed to complete a project.!
