I think I'm in love!

Those blocks I started on Thursday have become a little bitty top and I can't get over how much I adore this thing --

It's Marilyn, but instead of making it with 6" blocks I scaled them down a bit and the entire quilt finishes at just over 7" square. Those nine patch and snowball blocks finish at 1 1/2". Those charts that tell you what size to cut your setting triangles don't go down that small.

Did I mention that I'm a little giddy over the whole thing? I took pictures this time, so I can write up a tutorial once I've got it finished, but I switched the fabric placement in the nine patch blocks to see how that would look. Now I think I need to make another baby quilt size version, because this is cute!

There's just enough of my fat quarter left to bind it and do a matching backing. Since this is probably going to wind up on the sewing room wall, would you back it with the pink print, or use muslin and save the good stuff for another project?

I'm linking up to Design Wall Monday at Patchwork Times.

I think I am giddy too. You need to take a picture with a coin sitting on it so we really get a good idea. LOVE IT!!

Your little quilt is just precious! How wonderful! And I love how you have enough of the Fat Quarter to bind it!!! Too cute.

So cute - even if that does sound trite. It is cute. FWIW II would use muslin on the back if you know for sure it is a wall hanging. Save the good stuff for front work.

This is just too cute. I'd save the good stuff in this case and use another scrap for the back. Did you paper piece it? I can't inagine how you handle those tiny pieces if you didn't.

Wow, that's so tiny! I am in awe of your skill piecing such perfect teeny blocks!

Just darling! Use the rest for the back -- it's only 7" -- and give this tiny quilt a special place of honor in your sewing room. Who knows, it may grow up to be someone's doll quilt one day!

Your quilt is so darn cute. Kudos to you! I agree with Jo it would be cool to lay a coin on it to help show the scale.

So cute!! I can't believe you worked that many pieces into that size. Good for you.

That is cute, but that was when I thought it was a baby quilt... smaller it's even cuter, and shows that you can do small. I'm impressed.
I'd use the muslin. Your wee quilt isn't going to get much use, and the good stuff is so expensive.
Hugs
