Blog Hop Party

It's time for another Blog Hop Party With Giveaways, sponsored by the Quilting Gallery.  I love these events -- it's so much fun to explore new blogs, and if I win something, that's an extra bonus!

Blog Hop Party with Give-Aways

If you haven't been here before, I'm Michelle and my project for the last three or four years has been making baby quilts for local pregnancy centers. After making twenty quilts for my own family of six in one year, I had to do something different! Twenty quilts we can use, but multiply that by years and years...

I love making baby quilts. They're instant gratification. They're great for using up scraps and playing with new blocks or color schemes or quilting techniques. This year, I decided that it would me more fun if I had other quilters to make the baby quilts with, so I started Let's Make Baby Quilts.  Every Friday I host a linky party to share our progress and finishes. I also share tutorials for easy baby quilts. You can find a list of those over in the sidebar.

I'm giving away a copy of Quilt It with Love: The Project Linus Story: 20+ Quilt Patterns & Stories to Warm Your Heart. To enter, just leave a comment below letting me know who you make baby quilts for. I'd love it if you followed my blog or liked the new Let's Make Baby Quilts page on Facebook.

On November 27, I'll use the random number generator to choose a winner. (And yes, I will ship internationally.)

I've followed your blog for quite a while now, and I love seeing all the baby quilts you make :) I made a baby quilt for my nephew this year and I also try to make a blanket--either quilted or crocheted for new moms that I know.

Depends on who I hear needs a quilt. I took a bunch to the hospital, some to our local Care N Share and to local schools. They like the twin size best. I prefer making quilts for charity. Lately, I've been making more quilts with someone in mind and I kinda worry whether they will like the color, pattern and quilting choices. With charity quilts I can do anything I feel like and it is so freeing. Thanks.

Nanbon44 said...

seems my nieces have been in the baby business these last two years and many baby quilts went there... I also make baby quilts for my charity group WOCS/'
members cross stitch squares and send to me to make quilts.. sent 5 off yesterday, one went to a 3 year old going through chemo hers was ballerina themed.. I have also sent quilts to our local hospital as many of the new moms are military wives and many their husbands are overseas.. plus the nurses asked me to make really tiny quilts for the little angels that miscarry or are born to soon and can not stay. I also make tiny hats so when their moms see them or hold them for the last time, they are dressed just like the other babies.
